126 - someone run over the cat

i've been meeting up with stephan on the train in the mornings and today i had the cat empire playing on my ipod. stephan asked who they were and so i thought i'd do a post on them.

honestly i really like these guys, they we're a bunch of guys who got together and made music for the sake of it and had fun doing it. unfortunately the second album release showed a little bit of studio work. Felix's voice had been smoothed out and made to "sound better" it wasn't too much of a disappointment, a bit rushed, probably due to demand but nothing like the first.

i can just imagine the general meeting. "cat's, love you guys, you're so hot right now. the boys have come up with a great way to really add to the band that'll make you even bigger, we're talking really big baby...think maroon 5 meets ska..."

it's like watching rome burn and kicking kittens into the flames...
